April Favourites

April has been a month of changes: Starting a new job full of challenges and the promise of continuous improvement. Moving back home with Harry in tow. I have dealt with issues I wouldn't normally have done by myself such as sorting out insurance companies, finance on a new car and the steps involved in purchasing a new car. All in all, I would say April has been the month I have felt a lot more independent and in control with my life.

Aside from these changes, I have also been loving new products and products I have re-discovered.

Lush No Drought dry shampoo

This has almost run out, but I will definitely be re-purchasing it again. I bought this around April time last year and have re-discovered how good it is. I normally use Batiste dry shampoo, however I have discovered that they don't last long for me - maybe 2 weeks at most. Not sure if this is normal? The product from the aerosol, Batiste also doesn't seem to disperse well and leaves a grey tinge to my hair. The Lush dry shampoo is in a powder form and smells of citrus. I think it also adds some volume to my hair, effectively removes oil from my hair and disperses well. I squeeze the product into one palm and rub my fingers from the other hand to lift the product. I then rub the product into the areas of my hair I wish to re-fresh.

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua

This month I have been using this a lot more than my Clinique Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturiser. The coverage is amazing, but it's still light in formula and leaves a healthy dewy finish that lasts all day.

Nivea Diamond Touch

The body wash smells almost floraly and has subtle shimmer particles, but wouldn't say it has any moisturising benefits, which is what I look for in a body wash.

Elemis SkinFresh Serum

Such good value for Elemis (£18.00 from feelunique) which aims to prevent spots by reducing the redness in spots, minimises imperfections and prevents future breakouts. I have been using this 1-2 times a week in the evenings underneath my moisturiser.

Jergens Original Body Lotion

I love this moisturiser. It smells very subtly of cherry and almonds that lasts all day and keeps my skin hydrated.

Rimmel Lycra Pro Nail polish

I use this as a base coat to protect my nails and helps the nail polish on top of the base coat to last.

Boots Botanics Rosewater Toner

This is so refreshing, especially in the mornings when I still haven't woken up! I also take this to work and spritz my face when I start to feel tired. It contains glycerol which keeps skin hydrated too.

Percy and Reed Volumising No Oil Hair Oil

This came free with an Issue of Glamour magazine and provides a good amount of volume without using mousse or sprays which can sometimes leave residue. I use 1-2 pumps into the palm of my hand and run a comb through the product before combing through my hair. Like most volumising products, they have a strong synthetic smell which may put some people off. But the strong smell doesn't last all day. I'm not sure if I would buy this. It is around £11.90 and don't think the product justifies the price, but I will continue to finish my sample up.

Nivea Smooth Nourishing Handcream

I prefer this handcream over the Garnier intensive hand cream with L-Bifidus. It provides good moisture and skins into the skin well.

A yoga matt!

I have been doing lost of yoga, as soon as I wake up and just before bed. I find it helps to de-stress before I start the day or go to sleep. It's also good for releasing tension which I find beneficial, since I work at a computer all day.

    1. I find powder form better, but it is messier! I usually apply it over the bath :) and body wash is amazing!
