March Favourites

I hope you all had a glorious Easter Weekend. And hurrah, the sun has come out and it is certainly feeling a lot more like Spring. I bought a copy of Glamours April issue and drooled over the new season trends. Lets just say I want to be adorned in Daisies and 60's pastels!

Nails & Lip Products

1. Essie Nail Polish in Blanc.
I have been using this as a tip whitener for that French manicured nail look. The brush is a little too thick to apply the tip, especially if you're like me and have an unsteady hand! Instead of using the brush that came with it, I used an old mini eye shadow/lip brush from a pack of Ecotools.

2. Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain in Lovesick.
I have been making a smooth transition from the berry coloured lip  to a bright pink summery shade. I used this lip stain so much last Summer, and only now do I remember why. The shade is flattering (see below for a swatch), it hydrates, the colour stays on for a good couple of hours and fades into a subtle pink shade. I'm not sure if anyone else who has this have noticed the tingling sensation when applied to lips? It smells like mint, so I would assume that is the reason for the tingle. Some lip products use mint as an ingredient to plump up lips, but I haven't noticed any lip plump with this.

3. Bourjois Ultra Shine So Laque in Rose Satin.
As mentioned before, I have been mainly wearing French manicured nails. I applied this on top of a base coat followed by Essie Nail Polish in Fiji.

4. Essie Nail Polish in Fiji.
I applied 2 coats of this on top of the Bourjois Rose Satin. (See below for the end result).

5. Nivea Lip Butter, Vanilla and Macademia.
I think this will be a firm staple in my hand bag from now on. No one wants chapped lips! Check out last months Monthly Faves post here for a brief review on this product.

Hair Products

1. Aussie Luscious Long Conditioner.

I bought this particular type of conditioner (£4.49) to maintain the condition of my hair and try out some budget shampoos and conditioners. My hair type isn't dry, it is fine and oily, but even oily hair needs some nourishment. This conditioner isn't too heavy for my hair type, it conditions and smells good. While this conditioner is good I have I have seen better results using  Kerastasse Reflection Bain Chroma Captive.

2. Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil.

This is definitely my new favourite hair oil and only £6.99. Click here to read my review on this product.

3. Aussie Luscious Long Shampoo.

In conjunction with the conditioner this shampoo (£4.49) helps maintain my hair condition. But I have seen better results as mentioned before, with Kerastasse.

1. Bunch of Tulips from Tesco.

Now this isn't skin care, but it is Spring and they look all yellow and happy. If you would like some Tulips they are only £3.00 and I think you could buy 2 for £5.00.

2. Alpha H Liquid Gold.

I bought this after hearing great results in minimising spot scars. When I was in my teens I only had spots on my chin which surfaced in all their glory about a week before my period. Despite not picking them I still ended up with the spot scars which remained until the next month, when they reappeared again. I have used Alpha H Liquid Gold for about 2 months now and it has definitely cleared up those pesky little scars and I have noticed few if not any spots since. I think I have only had one. Muahaha goodbye teenage years and pesky spot cycle.

3. Clarins Liquid Bronze Self Tanner.

I have had this bottle since Christmas and have been using it now and again to gradually tan my face and neck. The consistency is not really a cream, as the name specifies it is very liquid. It comes out as a white fluid which I have found to be a disadvantage, since when it is rubbed in, you are no longer able to see parts of skin which haven't been applied with the tanner. But it does smell good. I can't quite describe it, well it is pleasant and doesn't smell like usual fake tan. It is also very moisturising but not oily. When I wake up I notice that my skin looks refreshed, radiant and moisturised. Tips when using this - apply your normal moisturiser underneath and wash hands afterwards!

4. Boots Botanics Rosewater Toning Spritz.

I haven't used many toners in the past and have often found them drying. But this toner smells refreshing and of course smells like roses! This removes the last traces of make up after cleansing and doesn't dry out my skin. Also the price (£3.49) is superb for what you get; organic certified ingredients which removes dirt and prepares skin for your moisturiser.

5. Elemis Fresh Skin Overnight Serum.

This is a great and affordable (£18.00 feelunique) little serum designed for 16-24 year olds. Serums are highly concentrated to provide skin with maximum benefits and can be used under a moisturiser or on its own. This serum contains Zinc which is an anti-inflammatory helping to minimise angry red spots, and vitamin C which is an antioxidant to repair skin, minimise imperfections and protect from future breakouts. I use this once a week to keep spots at bay.

Body Skin Care & Reed Diffuser

1. Veet Hair Minimising Moisturiser.

I remember when this moisturiser first came about about 2 years ago and thought I would like to give this a try. I have to say that I am not that impressed by it. It isn't very moisturising and considering it is a large bottle, it hasn't lasted well at all - perhaps because it simply isn't very moisturising. As for it minimising the appearance of hair - well I haven't seen any changes, not that I am very hairy anyway.

2. Himalaya Inspirations Natural Reed Diffuser - Lemon Verbena (£15.00 feelunique).

This smells amazing and so perfect for Spring. I hadn't heard of this brand before, but I love their ethics. The reeds are organic bamboo and the fragrance is made with natural essential oils and organic alcohol. I would love to try out their soya candles next!

3. Original Source Vanilla Milk and Raspberry Shower Cream.

This was in my February favourites click here to read.  Yes, I still want to roll around in this stuff like a dog rolling in poop.
