Protein Hot Chocolate

 Tone tan fit and ready

The secret to getting toned is protein powders. There are many sources of protein, it depends what suits your diet and lifestyle. The powders contain amino acids which are the ''building blocks'' needed to make proteins essential for muscle repair and growth.

  Pea Protein Isolate 250g

I have started using pea protein  (£5.69 for 250g) because it is unsweetened, has a higher protein content than whey powders, is 100% natural and can be added to sweet and savoury foods. I like to add it to soups and drinks, but be aware that it tends to thicken the consistency - in which case add a little water.

Protein Hot Chocolate

This is my new favourite thing. I can sweeten it to my own taste and add any extras such as marshmallows.

I usually have this after the gym and in the evening.

Try: making a batch to chill in the fridge as a pre-drink milkshake before the gym.

It's simple to make, similar to how you would make any
other hot chocolate.

1. Put the hot chocolate granules into your mug as per the instructions on the jar. The Green & Blacks recommended 4 tsp.

2. Mix 1 tsp of pea protein powder with the chocolate granules.

3. Pour hot water over the granules - make sure the water isn't boiling or it will damage the amino acids in the protein. If you can happily stick your finger into the water then it should be about body temperature.

4. I use a battery operated whisk to mix the protein powder, hot chocolate granules and water.

5. Add a little almond milk or normal milk to taste.

Let me know what you think! Xxx
